American Airlines recently launched their Flagship® First premium flight experience, to help raise awareness for this new offering we crafted three unique activations in Miami, Chicago and New York. Each one highlighted different aspects of the full curb to take-off experience while still remaining premium and unexpected.
This activation was designed to be a modern oasis during the South Beach Food & Wine Fest. Guests were treated to custom cocktails and local crafted appetizers - all of which were featured in a custom designed cookbook. At the center of the activation was a centerpiece featuring the infamous Ocean Blvd. crafted out of LED acrylic and local produce in an ombre display.
Since American Airlines serves cookbook-worthy food we put the Flagship First Dining Miami menu into a real cookbook and passed it out to guests at SOBEWFF.
To highlight the regionally inspired dishes from the Flagship First Dining menu I created a Miami centric centerpiece featuring local produce and an acrylic cut out of the Ocean Dr. skyline.
Chef’s Night Out is the first night of the James Beard Awards weekend in Chicago. A crowd of culinary experts was the perfect audience for American Airlines Flagship to display their premium hyper-local culinary offering. To show just how localized each American Airlines Flagship menu is we took guests to 3 different cities; Chicago, L.A. and Miami. A giant departure board told guests which city they were in, and which city was next, while an interactive passport tracked their progress along the journey. With each new city came a new appetizer and a new drink inspired by that city and straight from the American Airlines Flagship menu.
Passports were created to encourage guests to come back to our space throughout the night. I hand illustrated little stamps that were stamped onto the passport, if a guest got all 3 stamps they were entered into a sweepstakes.
